Billings Ovulation Method
Service Introduction
Introduction
The Billings Ovulation Method® was developed by Dr. John Billings and his wife in 1953 as a natural fertility regulation method. This method has been clinically validated over a long period and is recognized by the World Organization as a highly effective natural fertility regulation method. It allows women to understand their fertile and infertile states during their menstrual cycle by daily observation and recording of changes in cervical mucus. Couples can use this method to achieve pregnancy or delay conception without any tools or medications, and it does not carry any side effects
Scientific Validation of the Billings Ovulation Method®
The Billings Ovulation Method® was developed by Dr. John James Billings and Dr. Evelyn Billings based on long-term clinical research.
The scientific basis of the Billings Ovulation Method® stems from the findings of two esteemed scientists—Professor James Brown and Professor Erik Odeblad—who made significant contributions in this field. Professor James Brown focused on the basic research of reproductive hormone development during the female menstrual cycle, particularly methods for measuring estrogen and progesterone metabolites in urine. Brown collaborated with the Billings couple for many years on clinical research related to natural fertility regulation. Erik Odeblad conducted research on cervical secretions during the menstrual cycle at the University of Umeå in Sweden. The characteristics and sensations produced by these secretions provided the observational foundation for the Billings natural fertility regulation method. Detailed findings of their research and its relationship to the Billings Ovulation Method® are published on the Billings Ovulation Method® World Organization website.
